The iconic Chianti Classico estate has launched a fab new website www.coltibuono.com. If you love great wine and superlative Italian cuisine this is a wonderful site to browse, with information on all the wines including some fascinating information on the philosphy and methods behind their Organic Farming policy. As Coltibuono has an internationally renowned restaurant and cookery school there is plenty of stuff for the foodies too. You can book a stay at this Tuscan paradise as well, the website has all the details. The whole operation is managed by the charismatic and highly knowleagable Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti who is at the forefront of Chianti Classico in Tuscany and a passionate advocate for the region.

"Its Not Unusual" - or is it?

In 1965 Tom Jones had a hit with 'It's Not Unusual'. Funny that, because what is very unusual is to be able to put together a back catalogue of Chianti Classico's to taste from 1965 right up to the present day, from a producer of the calibre of Badia a Coltibuono. That's what we did this month and Victoria Daskal attended amongst others and wrote some great tasting notes about the wines. Dressed all in black, with dark hair pulled back, this striking Italian woman led us through an equally impressive vertical tasting of her Chianti Classico Riservas ranging from 1965 to 2005....

Tre Bicchieri! For Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico

Badia a Coltibuono are proud and delighted to have been awarded tre bicchieri (3 glasses) from the Gambero Rosso, the influential annual Italian wine guide Vini d'Italia , for their wonderful Chianti Classico 2006. The 3 glasses award is coveted by Italian wine producers and represents a great achievement. The list of awards is published in stages by region over a number of weeks. The official guide is launched in full on the 25th October in Turin.
Badia a Coltibuonos Chianti Classico is organic and a wine at the top of the tree in terms of quality from this region. You can find out more about them and their wines on the ‘Our Wines Page’.
