Undurraga TH Pinot Noir Leyda 2010 has won the Gold Medal Best in Category Pinot Noir at the 9th Annual Wines of Chile Awards. We are very proud to share the news with you as we've always be fond of this Pinot Noir.

Ripe and fruity but also complex and structured with the minerality tipycal of the Pinot Noir from cool climate.

Rafael Urrejola is the winemaker of the awards winning TH range of Undurraga. Of the same range the Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc have won awards too in the last 3 years.

The Leyda Valley is a sub-region of San Antonio, only 11Km from the Pacific Ocean which has a cooling effect on the vines and which makes the average summer temperature not higher than 26 degrees. This ensures slow ripening and the development of intense, fresh flavours aromas, together with lower potential alcohol content.

We are excited to be appointed the UK agent of JM da Fonseca, the largest privately owned vineyard holders in Portugal. Periquita from the Setubal region near Lisbon is the most well distributed Portuguese red wine brand in the world. Run by  the same family for 200 years the wines now include the hearty Montado from the Alantejo, the Quinta Camarate from the family estate in Azeitao, the luscious Pasmados from Setubal and the Domini from the Douro. Fonseca is also the oldest producer of the great Setubal Moscatels that can age for 200 years.

Moreno returns to Bierzo!

Having looked for many years for a decent Bierzo/Godello we finally tracked one down at Alimentaria a year and a half ago. Mike Ritchie MW shouted “we have found it at last”! We are not surprised that the wines were featured in El Bulli just before they finally shut in July. The wines are both modern and show the expressive character of their terroir. These are yet more great examples of what can be done outside Rioja.
