Pale yellow with green hints. Dry fresh and bright with tropical fruits aromas (melon passion fruit lychee ...) and a hint of fennel. On the palate white pulp fruits like pear and apple broad and balanced with firm acidity medium weight and finish with a hint of minerality.

Inox tank (stainless steel with oak staves) fermented with lees stirring.

The Castell del Remei estate was founded in 1780 and consists of more than 400 hectares with 80 dedicated to vine growing the estate also includes a castle a church a restaurant wine cellarsan olive and a flour mill an old distillery a barrel workshop and all the original family buildings that made it a self contained community.In 1982 the Cusine family bought the estate and with considerable investment started restoring and modernizing the estate.

Vineyard information: 

Situated in the foothills of the Cordillera Catalana, the terrain is fairley level, and the soils are mainly brown limestone with high proportions of lime, chalk and granite, with a little clay and organic matter. Plantings of local varieties such as Tempranillo (locally known as Ull de Llebre) and Garnacha are complemented with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, planted in the early '80.

Food Pairing: 

Great on its own, or with fish dishes, cheeses or white meats. Will stand up to strong flavoured oily fishes or spicy oily chicken and pork.

Tasting Note: 

Intense ruby in color this complex wine shows red and black currants bay leaves vanilla and spices on the nose. Bright blackberry and blueberry fruit, with a hint of green pepper on the mouth. Good weight, with vivid acidity combined with sweet supple tanic structure great concentration and a good length to make a seriously classy red.
