Paco & Lola captures the 'alegria' (joy or jubilation) of Spain.
The winery was born from the vision of a young team to create one of Spain’s most modern and dynamic wineries that also retains the key values of local production, where the magnificent Albarino grapes are grown by a myriad of small, experienced growers working individual small vineyards, who contribute their knowledge craft and winemaking traditions to the process. It's about building on tradition and giving it a modern, forward looking approach.
All the fruit is sourced from the renowned Salnés Valley - inhabited for thousands of years by the Celts, Phoenicians and Romans, which naturally favours vine growing. The star variety of the valley is Albariño, which according to legend was introduced in the 12th century by Benedictine monks from central Europe. Today the Salnés Valley forms part of the famous Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin.
The climatic characteristics here are unique making it a special place unlike any other part of the world and contribute to create a unique terroir. Good rainfall and small temperature variations combine with sandy loam soils of granite origin that are lightly acidic to create the ideal conditions of cultivating the Albariño.
This large coastal area has proven itself the perfect place to fully develop the potential of the Albariño variety’s seductive aromas and flavors, thanks to fertile soils and a gentle climate where the vines grow fanned by cool Atlantic breezes.
Paco & Lola is a stylish wine that reflects enjoyment with style and certainly the fabulous packaging is a real head turner. Even so, its only when you open the bottle that you find an Albarino of real individuality and difference.
