We are delighted to launch the Moreno Wines website, created for you, the trade customer to offer a wealth of information and an improved level of service. We also invite anyone interested in the wine arena to visit our site and make use of the information contained herein. Everything you need to know about our products will be here, as well as information on how to order and of course any news on new products, tastings and events. We hope this site will grow to be as comprehensive as possible. However we are a company that values our close relationships with our customers. For those of you who are new to Moreno Wines, here is some background information about us. We have been established as an agency business for over 25 years, so we hope a précis will do! The company was started by Juan Moreno in 1972 with the support of his wife Salomé Moreno. Since that time their son Manuel Moreno developed the merchant business further and in 1985 the company began representing wine companies as a fully fledged agency business. Carlos Read, a highly respected wine professional has been involved from the start and more recently the company has been joined by Alex Canneti and Mike Ritchie – Master of Wine, adding further expertise to our operation.
Manuels children, Abbi and Marcel, are also working in the business. It’s a family company and we like to feel, has some of the best professionals in the trade. The company has built its reputation as an importer of Spanish wines yet we have been successfully importing and selling wines from Chile for 20 years, New Zealand and Argentina for 10 years as well as France and Australia for 6 years.
We have also two new Italian agencies which joined us in the last year. Our portfolio covers wines which have been selected with great care and diligence over time and we are proud of the fact that the majority of our producers have been working with us for very many years. In terms of our customers, we supply the entire UK trade both large and small. At the same time, the wine companies we work with are all very different, from large coops to small, unique producers.
Thus, we can offer a wide range of wines, whether it is for a 10,000 case Garnacha from Calatayud or a small parcel of 50 cases of a top Coonawarra Shiraz. Whatever your business, we are sure Moreno will always have something to offer you and a great service to back it up. We are serious about our customer service and our commitment to quality wines but generally we hope we are not too serious about the subject of wine itself. We believe wine is to be enjoyed and explored, by all adults irrespective of their level of knowledge. Please add us to your favourites list!
